Over the course of my career, I’ve helped launch more than a dozen software and hardware products as a software engineer, product manager, CTO, and founder. I’m fluent in the full product development lifecycle—planning, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance—and I’m especially interested in work where data, technology, and mobility intersect. My work spans:
Consumer and enterprise SaaS, marketplaces, and data & information services.
Battery management systems, smart-home products, and musical instrument hardware.
Lubricants, base stocks, additives, and high-performance industrial formulations.
If you need someone who can talk to your engineers about Kafka and Kubernetes, your chemists about base stock selection, and your CFO about ROI, all without a translation layer, this is what I do.
Most product problems aren’t purely technical. They sit at the messy intersection of legacy systems, regulatory constraints, real-world conditions, and humans with limited time.
From Detroit, Michigan, I help teams:
Decide what to build and why
Design how it should work end-to-end
Guide engineering, lab, and operations teams as they build, launch, and scale
Examples of where Mohammad Hamid Detroit has worked:
Multi-tenant SaaS products and analytics platforms
BMS and smart devices that talk reliably to the cloud
Lubricant and adhesive products that survive actual plant conditions, not just PowerPoint
If it has a roadmap, a dependency diagram, and real-world consequences, I’m comfortable there.
Where this experience comes from
Work with automotive and mobility companies on media optimization tools, dealer and fleet dashboards, supply-chain optimization, and BMS-driven data products. Experience with telematics, CAN/J1939 data, dealer systems, and analytics used by marketing, operations, and finance.
As a software engineer for a fast-growing Michigan credit union, I worked on reporting, BI, and anomaly detection for HELOCs and mortgages using the Jack Henry stack (Episys, Symitar). Later, I helped build analytics-heavy SaaS products for risk, compliance, and customer insights that serve financial institutions and their partners.
Work in tribology, lubricants, and automation for industrial machinery (mixers, compressors, centrifuges), combined with analytics (pricing, marketing mix modeling, and forecasting). Data and product thinking right at the plant level.
As founder of a Detroit-based SaaS market research and analytics platform, I led development of a system that used public and social data to measure brand health and stakeholder engagement. Clients included Mazda, Koch Industries, Kellogg’s, DTE Energy, Southern Company, BASF, and Mylan.
A practical, product-first approach
Define the product, the users, and what “success” actually looks like—for engineers, operators, and leadership.
Architecture, data flows, integration points, and product requirements, translated into language teams and vendors can act on.
I embed with your engineering, lab, or operations groups to keep execution aligned with the product vision, constraints, and roadmap.
Instrumentation, monitoring, documentation, and commercialization support—all the unglamorous things that make a product stable.
No innovation theater. If it doesn’t help you ship, we don’t spend time on it.
